Metal Roofing

A metal roof costs more up front but lasts twice as long as a composition roof, sheds water and snow effortlessly, reflects heat (lower cooling bills), and looks right on ranch-style homes, modern builds, and commercial buildings. We install standing-seam and screw-down panel systems.

Standing seam vs. screw-down panel

Standing seam hides the fasteners under the seam — cleaner look, longer life, premium pick. The panels lock together vertically with no exposed screws to fail.

Screw-down (R-panel, 5V crimp) is more affordable, faster to install, and very common on barns, shops, and commercial buildings. The screws have neoprene washers that eventually need re-tightening or replacement.

Colors and gauges

We work with major manufacturers including Mueller, McElroy, and Berridge. Standard colors include galvalume, charcoal, burnished slate, hunter green, classic red, and many more. Gauges run from 26 (light residential) to 24 (commercial-grade).

Cost vs. composition

Standing-seam metal usually runs 2 to 3 times the cost of composition. The trade-off: a 40-50 year service life versus 18-25 for composition, lower cooling costs, and almost no maintenance. For homeowners planning to stay put, the cost-per-year is often lower than composition.
